Notification Issued for Reduction of Electricity Price by Rs 1.71 per Unit

Islamabad: The Power Division has issued a notification for a reduction in electricity prices by Rs 1.71 per unit.

NEPRA had sent the federal government its decision for the price reduction yesterday, and today the Power Division officially notified the decrease of Rs 1.71 per unit.

According to the notification, the reduction in electricity price will apply to consumers across the country, including those under K-Electric. This reduced rate will be effective from April to June 2025.

The Power Division stated that the reduction in electricity prices is being implemented through an additional subsidy from the federal government and will not apply to lifeline consumers.

It is worth mentioning that the federal government had submitted a request for a Rs 1.71 per unit reduction in electricity rates, which was approved by NEPRA.
