For the first time in the country’s history, the volume of remittances sent by overseas Pakistanis has crossed the $4 billion mark.
According to a statement issued by the State Bank, remittances amounted to $4.1 billion during March 2025, surpassing this milestone for the first time.
The statement noted that remittances recorded a 37.3% increase on a year-on-year basis and a significant 29.8% increase on a month-on-month basis.
The State Bank’s data shows that $987.3 million were received from Saudi Arabia, $842.1 million from the United Arab Emirates, $683.9 million from the United Kingdom, and $419.5 million from the United States.
