Swara Bhaskar, the Indian film industry actress, shared festive pictures of Eid with her husband Fahad Ahmad and their daughter Rabia.
The images were well-received by many social media users, while Hindu extremists, mostly associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), criticized her. Swara married Fahad Ahmad, the son of a Muslim politician, on February 16, 2023.
While many appreciated her posts and extended good wishes, extremists accused her of forgetting her religion after marrying a Muslim. They also criticized her for celebrating Eid when her husband didn’t celebrate Holi with her, questioning her decision. Additionally, some went as far as threatening her with severe consequences.
