Islamabad: Iranian Interior Minister Iskandar Momeni arrived in Pakistan on an official visit along with a high-level delegation, where he was received by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
The visit is aimed at further strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Iran, enhancing cooperation in various fields, and discussing regional developments.
State Minister for Interior Talal Chaudhry presented a bouquet to the visiting Iranian minister upon his arrival, while Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghaddam was also present at the airport.
The high-level Iranian delegation accompanying Momeni includes the Governor General of Sistan and Baluchestan, the Deputy Interior Minister, Deputy Minister for Urban Development and Transport, the head of the National Iranian Oil Company, a special representative of the Agriculture Ministry, and other senior officials.

Speaking to the media after his arrival, Iskandar Momeni said the main objective of his visit was to further expand relations between Pakistan and Iran. He added that regional cooperation and the current situation in the region would also be among the key topics of discussion.

Momeni said several issues were agreed upon during Iranian President’s previous visit to Pakistan, but further progress was required on their implementation. He said his visit was focused on reviewing developments on those agreements and ensuring practical steps toward their implementation.
According to the Ministry of Interior, Mohsin Naqvi and Iskandar Momeni also held an important meeting during which they discussed bilateral ties, security cooperation, and regional matters.
Welcoming his Iranian counterpart, Mohsin Naqvi said Pakistan was pleased to host him and expressed hope that the visit would contribute to strengthening relations between the two countries.
Momeni said he was pleased to meet Mohsin Naqvi again, describing Pakistan-Iran relations as historic and strong. He also appreciated the hospitality extended by the Pakistani government and people.
During his visit, the Iranian interior minister is also expected to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
