In addition to the high cost of production, the global economic slowdown has also impacted demand for Pakistani textiles. With key markets in Europe and the United States facing economic challenges, buyers are scaling back their orders, leading to a reduction in exports. The lack of innovation and value-added product offerings in the textile sector has also been cited as a contributing factor to the decline in exports.
Industry representatives are calling on the government to provide relief in the form of subsidies and tax breaks to help ease the burden on textile manufacturers. Furthermore, there is a push for increased investment in technology and innovation to boost the competitiveness of Pakistani textiles in the global marketplace.
