Last month, there were clashes on the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan, in which there were casualties on both sides. Pakistan had targeted a high-value target with airstrikes in Kabul, but Pakistan did not officially admit the airstrike.
After the tension between the two Islamic neighboring countries, friendly countries mobilized and the first round of negotiations was held in the capital of Qatar, Doha, in which a ceasefire agreement was reached. However, in the next phase of the agreement, Pakistan demanded that the Afghan Taliban eliminate the bases of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, on which no progress has been made so far.
Defense Minister Khawaja Asif and Information Minister Attaullah Tarar severely criticized the Afghan Taliban for not taking action against groups on Afghan soil involved in terrorism in Pakistan.
After Qatar, talks were also held between Pakistan and the Afghan Taliban in the Turkish capital Istanbul, which ended without any results, after which delegations from both intermediary countries arrived in Pakistan and Kabul for talks.
