Iran Claims Missile Strikes on US Bases in Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan

Tehran: Iran’s Revolutionary Guards claimed to have launched missile and drone strikes on US military bases in Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan as part of a retaliatory operation. The claims have not been independently verified by the United States or the affected countries.

According to the Bahraini Interior Ministry, sirens have been sounded and people have been instructed to remain calm and move to the nearest safe place.

The Kuwaiti military said in a statement that its air defense system was countering “enemy air attacks” within the country’s airspace.

It said any explosions heard were the result of air defense systems repelling the attacks, and appealed to the public to follow safety and security instructions.

According to Iranian state media, the operations have caused fuel tanks and weapons depots to catch fire at Jordan’s Prince Hassan Air Base.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said the attack on the Jordanian facility was part of its first phase of operations in response to US strikes on Iranian coastal bases, warning that a counter-offensive was underway.

The Revolutionary Guard said its aerospace forces also targeted Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain, a helicopter surveillance facility with a P-8 aircraft in its hangar, and a US drone command center.

Iranian state media reported that the Revolutionary Guard also targeted two air bases in Kuwait, the claims coming at a time when Iran and the US are escalating their retaliation in the region.

The Revolutionary Guards said that they launched missile attacks on the Ali Salem and Ahmad Al Jaber air bases in Kuwait, completely destroying the fuel depots and Patriot air defense systems at the Ali Salem air base, and also destroying the strategic FPS radar system installed at the Ahmad Al Jaber air base in the attack. The operation was carried out as part of the third phase of the Eye for an Eye operation.

The Iranian report further said that the operation was carried out to target locations that were identified after monitoring enemy movements over the past 48 hours.

In a statement, the Revolutionary Guards said that two ships were also targeted in its naval operation in the Strait of Hormuz, accusing them of disabling tracking systems, violating navigation rules, and posing a threat to maritime security.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, while releasing details of the fifth phase of the retaliation, said that the statement further claimed that the FPS long-range surveillance air radar and ship surveillance radar in Oman were also targeted, and that the Omani radars were destroyed.

The Revolutionary Guards said that the only way to keep the Strait of Hormuz open for maritime traffic is for the United States to end its military intervention in the strait and respect the sovereignty of coastal countries over their maritime borders. If this interference continues, more serious incidents could occur in the global oil and gas sector.
