Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif met his Chinese counterpart Li Qiang in Beijing, in which it was decided to establish CPEC Phase II and 5 new corridors as well as activate the Gwadar Port as soon as possible.
According to Sources, after the delegation-level talks between Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Premier of the People’s Republic of China Li Qiang, a state-of-the-art lunch was also hosted in honor of the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the positive momentum of Pak-China relations, while the Prime Minister sincerely thanked the Chinese leadership and nation for their unwavering support for Pakistan’s territorial integrity, sovereignty and socio-economic development.
The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen the Pakistan-China all-weather strategic cooperation in light of the important consensus reached during the meeting between President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on September 2, 2025.

The signing of the Joint Action Plan 2024-29 was described as a major milestone on the occasion.
Shehbaz Sharif said that the positive results of the ongoing reform initiatives in Pakistan have been possible due to China’s strong support, and he also expressed Pakistan’s intention to soon issue Panda Bonds in the Chinese capital market.
The Prime Minister highlighted the important contribution of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) while stressing the need for early implementation of the realignment of the Karakoram Highway and ML-1 and the operationalization of Gwadar Port.
Stressing the vast potential for business-to-business cooperation and investment, the Prime Minister briefed the Chinese Premier about the investment conference being held in Beijing, which is being attended by over 300 Pakistani companies and 500 Chinese companies.
He identified agriculture, mining and minerals, textiles, industrial sectors and IT as priority sectors for mutually beneficial economic cooperation.
The Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s support for President Xi Jinping’s historic initiatives to strengthen multilateralism, including the Global Governance Initiative, the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative.
The two leaders emphasized that next year, Pakistan and China will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
In addition, a signing ceremony for memorandums of understanding and agreements between the two countries regarding enhancing cooperation in various sectors such as the development of Phase 2 of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, science and technology, information technology, media, and agriculture was also held, which was attended by both leaders.
