Rawalpindi: 82 accused in the PTI November 26 protest case have confessed to their crimes in the Rawalpindi Anti-Terrorism Court.
The Anti-Terrorism Court in Rawalpindi heard 24 cases registered against PTI workers for protests held on November 24 and 26, 2024. During the hearing, relevant authorities appeared before the court.
Out of 1609 accused individuals, 560 who appeared in court were formally charged.
Among them, 82 accused confessed before the judge and submitted affidavits stating that they were incited to protest by PTI leadership.
The accused told the court that both local and central PTI leadership encouraged violent protests, and pleaded for leniency, stating that they are poor laborers.
They also submitted written statements in court, pledging not to participate in any future protests.
Subsequently, the court sentenced the 82 individuals who pleaded guilty to 4 months in prison and fined them Rs. 15,000 each.
