Good news for WhatsApp users

Good news for WhatsApp users, Meta-owned messaging app WhatsApp is widely popular for sending messages to friends and family, along with its voice and video calling features. However, users of WhatsApp Web have so far lacked access to these calling features and are required to use their mobile phones for calls. That inconvenience may soon be a thing of the past.

According to tech reports, WhatsApp is preparing to introduce **voice and video calling features to its web client**. This long-awaited update is aimed at making communication easier for users who prefer using WhatsApp on their browsers.

As per *WABetaInfo*, a reliable source for WhatsApp updates, the new feature is designed for the convenience of web users and may be rolled out in an upcoming version of WhatsApp Web. While the feature is currently in the development phase, it is expected to launch soon—though no official release date has been announced yet.

Once released, the new **WhatsApp Web calling update** will allow users to make individual and group voice or video calls directly through popular browsers like Chrome, Safari, and Microsoft Edge. This means users on Windows and macOS will no longer need to rely on the desktop app for calling features.

It’s worth noting that WhatsApp first introduced desktop calling back in 2021, but it was limited to specific desktop browsers and required the installation of the dedicated desktop application.
