Director General (DG) of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of Pakistan Army Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has said that 80 percent of the terrorist incidents last year took place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the reason for this is that a conducive political environment is provided to terrorists there.
DG ISPR gave a detailed briefing to journalists while holding a press conference today (Tuesday) on the security situation and other important issues.
He said that significant successes were achieved in the war against terrorism last year and the security forces carried out effective operations in different parts of the country.
At the beginning of the press conference, he told about the operations of the security forces in the last year 2025 that successful operations were carried out against terrorism last year, 75,175 intelligence-based operations were carried out in the country last year, of which 14,658 were carried out in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 58,778 in Balochistan and 1,739 in other areas.

He said that 2,597 terrorists were killed in 75,175 intelligence-based operations, 5,397 incidents of terrorism occurred across the country in which 1,235 civilians and security personnel were martyred.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that a total of 27 suicide attacks took place across the country last year, of which 16 were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, two of these suicide attacks were carried out by women.
DG ISPR said that 80 percent of the terrorist incidents have taken place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to him, the reason for the high level of terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the favorable environment available to terrorists there.
He said that due to the strategy and operations of the security forces, the operations against terrorists have become more effective than before.
He said that five years ago, the situation was that for every terrorist killed, there were three martyrs, while now this ratio has changed and two terrorists are being killed for every martyr.
DG ISPR said that the stronghold of Fitna-ul-Kharij and Fitna of India is in Afghanistan, all terrorist organizations are in Afghanistan, they are being nurtured, there was tension on the Pak-Afghan border in October last year, Pakistan repeatedly explains to Afghanistan to handle the terrorists, but when the matter was not resolved, then within hours, Afghan posts were targeted.
He mentioned the ten major terrorist attacks in Pakistan in 2025 and said that all those who carried out these attacks were Afghan citizens. The video statements of the arrested Afghan citizens who confessed to the attacks in Pakistan were also played at the press conference.
He said that we targeted the TTP and not the TTA in Afghanistan. We have all the evidence that who are the terrorists and where are they giving space to whom? Who is the main target? If you look at it, you can see 10 major incidents. The terrorists attacked civilians and soft targets. All these terrorist attacks were carried out by Afghans.

He said that last year, 14,658 operations were carried out in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the army, police and institutions conducted 75,175 intelligence-based operations, 58,778 intelligence-based operations were conducted in Balochistan, and 5,397 incidents of terrorism occurred.
According to the DG ISPR, 2,597 terrorists were killed, 1,235 of us were martyred in the war against terrorism, 27 suicide attacks took place last year, suicide attacks took place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Islamabad, 16 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 10 in Balochistan.
He said that there was an attack in the Islamabad Judicial Complex, 3,811 incidents of terrorism occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, terrorism incidents increased in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from 2021 to 2025, the state is determined to eliminate terrorism.
He said that the state has a clear stance against Fitna-ul-Hindustan, 193 terrorists were killed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during 2021, last year was historic and fruitful against terrorism, in the Doha Agreement in 2021, the Taliban held talks with the US, Afghan soil will not be used for terrorism.
The DG ISPR said that in the Doha Agreement, it was said that women will get rights in Afghanistan, have the promises of the Doha Agreement been fulfilled after 2021? Various terrorist organizations are carrying out operations from Afghanistan.
The spokesperson of the Pakistani army said that Afghanistan is a haven for terrorists from all over the world, they call themselves the interim Afghan government but there is no government there, Al-Qaeda, ISIS, BLA are present in Afghanistan, Fitna-ul-Hindustan and TTP training camps are present in Afghanistan.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif said that recently an executive order was brought in Syria, 2,500 terrorists from Syria moved to Afghanistan, there are no Pakistanis among the terrorists who moved to Afghanistan from Syria, DG Afghan border closure has significantly reduced terrorism.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif said that Afghanistan has organized the TTP according to its own behavior, a fake narrative is being made that it has driven America out of Afghanistan, Afghanistan presents itself as the champion of Islam, Afghanistan is directly supporting terrorists, Afghanistan is practicing a war economy.
DG ISPR said that terrorism is being spread throughout the region for war economy, Afghanistan has become accustomed to war economy, a suicide attack took place in the Police Line Mosque in Peshawar, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited Peshawar and said in his speech that Khawarij has nothing to do with Islam, Field Marshal said this is the order of Allah, wherever Khawarij are found, they are defeated.
The spokesperson of the Pakistani military said that there is a criminal terror nexus in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and 206 intelligence operations are being conducted based on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
