Trump Declares Iran Ceasefire Over, Says ‘We’re Done Dealing With Tehran’

ANKARA: US President Donald Trump said the ceasefire with Iran has effectively ended, declaring that Washington will no longer engage in further negotiations with Tehran. His remarks came as regional tensions escalated following Iranian missile strikes targeting US military installations in Bahrain and Kuwait.

While talking with NATO Chief General Mark Rutte in the Turkish capital Ankara, US President Donald Trump said that constructive talks were held with the NATO Chief, NATO is America’s most difficult partner, we talked about ridding Iran of nuclear weapons, Iran cannot have nuclear weapons under any circumstances.

He said that I am not happy with NATO because they did not help us against Iran, we did not need help but I was taking a test, we were giving 100 percent funding to NATO while some countries were not contributing anything.

He had said that the US provides the most financial support to NATO, so allied countries should fulfill their responsibilities more effectively.

In response to a question about the ceasefire between the US and Iran, the US President said, “I think it’s over. I think the memorandum of understanding with Iran is over. I don’t want to deal with them anymore. We’ve wasted too much time on Iran. Now we have to do our job.” Trump said that yesterday Iran attacked ships in Saudi Arabia and other countries. In response to Iran’s attacks, the US military also took action. They eliminated all of Iran’s leadership. Now there are new people. He said that they don’t want to have any relations with Spain. Spain is a very bad partner. They stopped trading with it and now they are grumbling about trading with us. The US President further said that the US should not have given Greenland back. This region is important to us. If I were him, I wouldn’t even give the Panama Canal.

Iran retaliates after US attack, fires missiles at Bahrain and Kuwait

After the US airstrikes, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards fired missiles at US installations in Bahrain and Kuwait.

According to the spokesman, 85 locations were targeted in Bahrain and Kuwait, including US military bases. The US Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain and the Ali al-Salem Air Base in Kuwait were attacked. The US carried out these attacks to divert attention from the condolence ceremonies for the martyred Supreme Leader.

According to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, the US violated the Islamabad emorandum by attacking, and the action is the first response in response to the ceasefire and violation of the Islamabad agreement.

On the other hand, sirens sounded in Kuwait and Bahrain after Iran’s attacks, Kuwaiti authorities have appealed to the public to follow safety and security instructions, and the country’s defense system has been restored after the attacks.

Earlier, the US military carried out large-scale airstrikes on more than 80 military targets in Iran late last night. According to the US military, the operation was carried out in response to Iran’s attacks on three commercial vessels in the waterway. The attacks targeted military installations in Iran’s Qeshm Islands, Kharg, Sirak and Bandar Abbas.

There was no immediate official response from the US, Bahrain or Kuwait to the news, and there was no independent confirmation of the nature of the attacks, damage or casualties.

Analysts say that if Iran’s claim is confirmed, it could further escalate tensions in the Gulf region and take the ongoing crisis between Iran and the US to a new level.
