Islamabad: Following the leak of confidential RAW documents related to the Pahalgam incident, India has dismissed the Director General of the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) from his post.
Lieutenant General D.S. Rana has been forcibly transferred to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands (also known as Kala Pani). His transfer is being linked to the sensitive RAW documents that were also accessed by The Resistance Front (TRF) and shown to the world.
The leaked documents have embarrassed RAW on a global level, calling into question the credibility of the Pahalgam operation. The documents revealed high-level involvement of military and security institutions in staged operations. The file was under General Rana’s personal custody.
According to Indian government investigations, the leaked files were traced from General Rana’s office to the media, leading to an immediate order for his removal from the DIA leadership.
General Rana’s posting to Andaman and Nicobar, a military station notorious for harsh conditions, isolation, and lack of facilities, is being seen as a humiliation. His disgraceful dismissal and stripping of authority is expected to have a psychological impact on Indian leadership and troops.
