LAHORE: Chairman of the Supreme Council of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Prof. Dr. Hasan Mohiuddin Qadri, while presenting a paper at the 36th International Conference held in Egypt in collaboration with the Ministry of Awqaf-ul-Islamia, said that there is no need to be afraid of modern media, but the ethical framework and training of its use is very important.

Artificial intelligence is not a substitute for human intelligence. Modern media and scientific inventions are not at odds with Islam. Rather, these inventions are confirming Kalam Rabbani. The theme of the conference was “Ethics, Impact of Arts in Islam and their Future in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.” Eminent scholars, intellectuals and economists from all over the world participated in the conference.

Prof. Dr. Hasan Mohiuddin Qadri said that artificial intelligence, despite its extraordinary capabilities, cannot replace human conscience, moral values and Sharia Islam. Artificial intelligence is just a tool, the direction and limits of which should be determined in the light of the Shariah. To ensure fairness, transparency and protection of human dignity. He stressed the need for a balance between Islamic teachings, Shariah and modern technology. Protecting consumer rights is a major challenge in the context of digital commerce. Misleading information opens the door to exploitation. There has to be a legal, moral and ethical framework. For this, transparent monitoring and responsible use of data is a must.

Dr. Hasan Mohiuddin Qadri said that clear legislation and policies have to be formulated regarding the use of modern technologies. Therefore, all the countries of the region should move forward by taking advantage of each other’s experiences. Artificial Intelligence should be taught as a subject as a compulsory curriculum. The participants of the conference appreciated the suggestions of Prof. Dr. Hasan Mohiuddin Qadri as practical.
