Lahore: A grand and splendid farewell ceremony was organized in honor of graduating students and scholars at Jamia Islamia Minhaj-ul-Quran, in which a large number of teachers, parents and students participated.
Addressing the ceremony, President Minhaj-ul-Quran International Professor Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that education makes a person a responsible and conscious citizen. The real journey of knowledge begins after graduation. After completing their education, students should first thank their parents and remember their financial sacrifices during their academic journey. Allah Almighty grants understanding and insight into religion to whom He intends good, and this understanding is a lifelong journey.

He advised the students not to limit knowledge to mere credentials but to consider it as worship and combine it with sincerity of intention, action and high character. He said that as representatives of religion, the speech, character, dress and morals of the students should be a means of presenting a correct and positive image of Islam in the society.

Referring to the life of Imam Ghazali (RA), Professor Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that despite his high positions in knowledge and fame, he preferred the improvement of sincerity and intention, which is a worthy example for today’s scholars. He said that the years spent in the university provide the students with an academic foundation, however, the real and practical journey of knowledge begins now. He paid tribute to the academic and training efforts of the teachers, the sacrifices of the parents and the continuous struggle of the students and said that as a result of these joint efforts, the students become capable of serving the religion of the Prophet (ﷺ). The students were instructed to maintain a strong connection with the Holy Quran, study with translation and commentary, stay informed about religious and contemporary sciences, and make good morals, modesty, and dignity their hallmarks.

The ceremony was attended by the Principal of the College of Sharia and Islamic Sciences, Professor Dr. Muhammad Mumtaz-ul-Hasan Barvi, Sahibzada Asim Maharvi, Deputy Director General of the Organization, Dr. Muhammad Rafiq Najam, Mufti Abdul Qayyum Khan Hazarvi, Dr. Muhammad Akram Rana, Professor Dr. Shabbir Ahmed Jami, Professor Dr. Faizullah Baghdadi, Professor Dr. Shafaqat Ali Baghdadi, Professor Dr. Iftikhar Shah Bukhari, and a large number of distinguished personalities and graduates and students.
