ISLAMABAD: The objection raised by the Supreme Court Registrar’s Office on a contempt of court petition concerning the hospital transfer of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has been removed, and the petition has now been assigned a number.
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar submitted the list of allegations against the alleged contemnors, addressing the objection raised by the Registrar’s Office. The petition was subsequently refiled and assigned Contempt Petition No. 8/2026.
Uzma Khan Seeks Early Hearing of Imran Khan Contempt Petition
The petition was filed by Imran Khan’s sister, Uzma Khan, against the government over the matter of his hospital transfer. Following the registration of the petition, Uzma Khan also filed a separate application seeking an early hearing.
The plea states that Imran Khan’s health is deteriorating and that the matter directly concerns his health and life. It further alleges that the government violated the court’s order and argues that if any clarification was required, the government should have approached the relevant court.

The application further maintains that a judicial order cannot be deviated from and requests the Supreme Court to fix the contempt petition for hearing during the current week.
Earlier, the Supreme Court Registrar’s Office had returned the contempt petition after raising an objection. According to sources, the office had pointed out that the petitioner had not provided a list of the charges against the parties allegedly responsible for contempt.
Speaking to the media outside the Supreme Court, Barrister Gohar said the Registrar’s Office had objected to the petition because the list of charges had not been submitted. He said the objection would be addressed and the contempt petition would be refiled.
Barrister Gohar also stressed the importance of Imran Khan’s health and called for arrangements to allow his family members to meet him.
The contempt petition names Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar and Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, among others, as respondents.
