Lahore: Founder and Patron-in-Chief of Minhaj-ul-Quran Movement Shaykh-ul-Islam Professor Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, while addressing an intellectual session organized by Minhaj-ul-Quran Forum in which more than 500 PhD and MPhil scholars participated, said that the true spirit of religion is knowledge and research, scholars are the pillars of the intellectual edifice of the Ummah, inviting people to religion is not a sufficient duty but an absolute duty, every person of the Ummah is a preacher, and whoever has the necessary knowledge of religion has the duty to convey this knowledge to others. The intellectual session was attended by a large number of scholars (Minhajis) of Jamia Islamia Minhaj-ul-Quran, PhD and MPhil scholars, and researchers. The intellectual session was organized by President Minhaj-ul-Quran Forum Shahid Latif Qadri.
Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri said that Da’wah is a great duty of the Holy Quran and the legacy of the Prophets. In the present era, the Muslim Ummah is in dire need of intellectual guidance, research and scientific insight, and this responsibility falls most heavily on the scholars, researchers and religious scholars.
Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the purpose of Da’wah is not to start sectarian debates or increase differences, but to call people towards Allah, encourage them to adopt the ethics of Muhammad (PBUH) and enlighten them with the pure principles of Sharia. He said that Da’wah is the knowledge that fills the hearts with light. It turns hatred into love and leads the society towards peace and justice.
He said that the role of researchers and scholars determines the future of the Ummah. If they adopt the path of academic integrity, tolerance, research and moderation, then the society will improve. He added that the call without knowledge is incomplete and knowledge without the call is incomplete. It is necessary to walk together with both.
Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri urged the young scholars to dedicate their abilities to the service of religion, reform society and the intellectual training of the Ummah. They should carry forward the call of religion with sincerity, moderation, morality and wisdom because this is the path that takes humanity to the destination of goodness and security.

In the intellectual session, President Minhajeen Forum Shahid Latif Qadri welcomed the scholars and researchers in his welcoming remarks. A large number of scholars and Minhajeen scholars including Haji Aminul Haq Qadri, Allama Dr. Mir Asif Akbar Qadri, Mufti Ghulam Asghar Siddiqui, Dr. Mumtazul Hassan Barvi, Dr. Naeem Anwar Nomani, Dr. Sarwar Siddique, Dr. Farooq Rana, Allama Ainul Haq Baghdadi, Haji Muhammad Arshad, Afzal Saeed, Jawad Hamid, Mazhar Mahmood Alvi, Abdul Sattar Minhajeen, Dr. Hafiz Zaheer Ahmed Al-Asnadi, Sheikh Farhan Aziz, Faiz Alam Qadri, Muhammad Aftab Khan, Shahzad Rasool, Abid Bashir, Omar Daraz, and others participated in the ceremony.
