Lahore: A ceremony was held at Minhaj University Lahore yesterday to mark the birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak, the spiritual leader of the Sikhs.
A Sikh delegation from America, Canada and the UK led by CEO Sikh Tribal Canada, Sardar Jasbir Singh Bupa Rai, specially participated in the ceremony held at the Shaykh-ul-Islam Institute of Supernatural Studies Hall. The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and prayers, after which Director Interfaith Relations Minhaj-ul-Quran International Sohail Ahmed Raza welcomed the delegation.

In his welcome address, he said that Minhaj University is a center of knowledge, love and tolerance for believers of every religion. Sardar Jasbir Singh Bupa Rai said in his address that he is grateful to the administration of Minhaj University for its excellent hospitality and goodwill.

He said that Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri is a global ambassador of interfaith harmony and human respect. His vision is a guarantee of unity of all humanity. After coming here, we realized that not religion, but humanity is the real bond that connects everyone. At the end of the ceremony, a cake was cut on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak.

On this occasion, Dr. Akhtar Sindhu, Head of the Persian Department, Lahore College for Women University, Dr. Fariha Kazmi, Secretary of the Seekers Club, Minhaj University, Lahore, Amara Maqsood Qadri, faculty members Dr. Sarwar Hussain Naqshbandi, Dr. Hassan Farooq Mashwani, Dr. Shafqat Rasool, Dr. Sajida Begum and others participated. Later, the delegation was also taken to visit other academic and administrative departments of Minhaj University.
