Rawalpindi: DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said security forces have killed 54 militants in recent operations across Balochistan following a series of deadly terrorist attacks. He also alleged that India was backing terrorism in the province and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to continuing counterterrorism operations.
He said that Fitna-ul-Hindustan has nothing to do with Balochism, while Fitna-ul-Khawarij has nothing to do with Islam. The position of the state of Pakistan on this issue is very clear and unequivocal, and terrorists, their facilitators and patrons will be pursued to the fullest extent.
DG ISPR said that it has been made clear many times that Afghan soil is being used for anti-Pakistan operations and these terrorist operations are being supported by the Afghan Taliban regime.
He added that the entire planning of the Karachi attack was done in Afghanistan, while terrorism in Balochistan is being carried out by India. According to him, the question is who is doing all this, and the answer is clear that India is doing all this.
The Pakistan Army spokesperson said that a terrorist incident took place in the area of Mangi Dam, Quetta Pumping Station, while during an effective operation against terrorists in Ziarat, at least 15 terrorists were killed and 15 of their bodies escaped, 14 terrorists were killed in two more operations conducted today, after which a total of 54 terrorists have been killed in the operations of law enforcement agencies in the last few days.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that 18 police personnel were martyred in operations against terrorists, while a total of 42 personnel were martyred while defending the homeland in the three terrorist attacks. All the police personnel martyred in Ziarat were locals and Muslims, while the terrorists claim that they are fighting a war for Balochistan and Islam, which is a complete lie.
The DG ISPR said that the terrorists took innocent children hostage, targeted the local population and their aim was to spread fear and panic among the people. Those who target innocent citizens and brave sons of the country will not be given any concession and they will be made an example of wherever they are.
He said that Balochistan is the honor, glory and life of Pakistan and the development of Balochistan is actually the development of Pakistan. The terrorists have a problem with every project and facility that benefits the people of Balochistan, because these same elements, who are enemies of Pakistan’s prosperity and development, are involved in terrorist incidents.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry further said that the stand of the field marshal and political leadership on the issue of terrorism is also very clear. If the terrorists raise their hands on Pakistani citizens, the state will not negotiate with them but will pursue them everywhere.
He expressed his determination that “we are right and God willing, we will definitely succeed in this war. No power in the world can humiliate Pakistan. Operations will continue without discrimination until the complete elimination of terrorists and their facilitators.”
