Rivers Chenab and Sutlej wreak havoc in Jalalpur Pirwala tehsil, hundreds of settlements have been affected by the flood and there is a risk of water entering the city, announcements have been made from mosques to evacuate the city, Punjab’s Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has said that the flood situation in the rivers of Punjab persists.
According to sources, the operation that continued throughout the night in Jalalpur Pirwala tehsil of Multan is still ongoing, while the administration, rescue teams, police, civil defense and other agencies are actively working.
The district administration says that the Chenab and Sutlej rivers have wreaked havoc in Jalalpur Pirwala tehsil, hundreds of settlements have been affected by the flood and there is a risk of water entering the city, announcements have been made from mosques to evacuate the city.
The district administration says that in the next 24 hours, the flood of the Chenab River will again turn towards Multan. The water at Head Muhammad Wala is currently normal, the water pressure on the safety dams has decreased, there is water in several settlements around the dams.
According to the district administration, people have been shifted from the affected settlements to safe places, and strict monitoring of the safety dams is underway in view of the second relay.
Commissioner Aamir Karim Khan says that the rescue operation will continue to evacuate all the people affected by the flood, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is monitoring live online, citizens are being shifted to safe places, it is a difficult time, all institutions are working together, the rescue operation will continue until the last affected person is rescued.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said in her message on the social networking website ‘X’ that PDMA, Rescue and the district administration are present at the spot in Jalalpur Pirwala, about 2,000 people have been shifted to a safe place.

He said that the rescue operation in Jalalpur Peerwala, Multan will continue until complete evacuation, the operations are being closely monitored through thermal imaging drones.
304 villages affected in Jhang, 387,000 people displaced
In Jhang, several areas were submerged due to extremely high levels of flooding on the head trims. So far, 304 villages have been affected by the flood across the district, while 387,000 people have been displaced to safer places. The intermittent rains since yesterday have increased the problems of the flood victims. A UN delegation visited the flood-affected areas and also met the victims.
Meanwhile, the flood situation persists at the Head Qadirabad Barrage on the Chenab River in Mandi Bahauddin. The flood relay has caused devastation in the areas near the barrage. The flood affected 70 villages and more than 100,000 people. 3,665 people trapped in the flood were shifted to safer places, while crops standing on hundreds of acres of land were washed away in the flood relay.

Flood situation persists in the rivers of Punjab, PDMA
Meanwhile, the PDMA Punjab has said that the flood situation persists in the rivers of the province. The Sutlej River is in the highest flood level at Ganda Singh Wala where the water flow is 319,000 cusecs, while there is a high level flood at the Head Sulemanki on the Sutlej River and the water flow is 135,000 cusecs.
According to PDMA, the water flow at Head Marala on the Chenab River is 84,000 cusecs, low level flood and water flow at Khanki Head Works is 147,000 cusecs, while low level flood and water flow at Qadirabad is 147,000 cusecs.
According to PDMA Punjab, there is very high level flood at Head Trimon on the Chenab River where the water flow is 543,000 cusecs.
According to PDMA, the low level flood and water flow at Jasar in the Ravi River is 45,000 cusecs, while high level flood and water flow at Shahdara is 90,000 cusecs.
More areas of Kacha in Ghotki submerged
Here, due to the continuous increase in the water level in the Indus River in Ghotki, more areas of Kacha came under water. In the Indus River, there was an increase of 10,600 cusecs in the last 24 hours at Ghotki. People from the flood-affected areas are being shifted to safer places by boats.
However, the flood water has decreased once again at the Kotri Barrage. According to the barrage administration, water was recorded at 236,113 cusecs in the upstream of the Indus River, while 231,763 cusecs of water was recorded downstream.
According to the administration, water is being released from 4 canals originating from the Kotri Barrage, water has been increased in the KB feeder canal going to Karachi, 2100 cusecs of water is being released in the KB feeder.
