Karachi: A recent study has ranked Indonesia as the most inactive country, followed by Saudi Arabia, India, and the United States.
The research, conducted by Stanford University, analyzed data from over 700,000 individuals across 46 countries, offering startling insights into global physical inactivity.
The study, published in the journal Nature, used smartphone data to track people’s daily steps and activity levels, highlighting significant disparities in physical activity worldwide.
The results showed that people in certain countries take far fewer steps daily, suggesting a sedentary lifestyle. Based on this data, the countries were ranked according to their citizens’ daily walking activity.
Indonesia topped the list, followed by Saudi Arabia in second place, Malaysia in third, the Philippines in fourth, South Africa in fifth, Egypt in sixth, Brazil in seventh, India in eighth, Mexico in ninth, and the U.S. in tenth.
