Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, during his meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari, welcomed and termed the defense agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia as timely and welcome.
According to sources, President Asif Ali Zardari met Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Doha. Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and the Pakistani ambassador were also present in the meeting.
The President conveyed the message of good wishes from the government and people of Pakistan to the Emir of Qatar.
The President appreciated the progress of Qatar and the visionary leadership of the Emir of Qatar and suggested increasing cooperation in defense, defense production, agriculture and food security.

The Emir of Qatar expressed his willingness to increase cooperation and directed the relevant authorities to make immediate contacts.
During the meeting, the Emir of Qatar praised the role of the Pakistani community and expressed his desire to significantly increase its number.

He said that Qatar is proud of Pakistan and its achievements, while both leaders expressed their determination to further strengthen the historic and brotherly relations.
The Emir of Qatar termed the defense agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia as welcome and timely.
He said that Pakistan is in a unique position that has relations with China, the West and the Gulf countries simultaneously.
The Emir of Qatar expressed hope that Pakistan and Afghanistan will overcome the current challenges by resolving the current issues.
President Zardari appreciated Qatar’s hosting of the Doha talks and its role in Afghanistan and also invited the Emir of Qatar to visit Pakistan.
The Emir of Qatar, accepting the invitation of the President of Pakistan, announced a visit to Pakistan early next year.
Earlier, President Asif Ali Zardari met with Chinese Vice President Han Zheng, the meeting took place on the sidelines of the Second World Conference on Social Development in Doha.
On the occasion of the meeting with Chinese Vice President Han Zheng, Asif Ali Zardari said that Pakistan and China are iron brothers and all-weather strategic partners. He thanked China for its cooperation with Pakistan in every difficult moment.
The President of Pakistan said that friendship with China is the main pillar of Pakistan’s foreign policy. The President appreciated China’s cooperation in the successful implementation of CPEC.
