Lahore: In view of the widespread destruction caused by the floods, the Founder and Patron-in-Chief of the Minhaj-ul-Quran Movement, Sheikh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, has announced that this year the World Milad Conference will be held in Aiwan-e-Iqbal, Lahore instead of Minar-e-Pakistan. The heavy administrative expenses incurred on Minar-e-Pakistan will be spent on the relief and rehabilitation of flood victims.
He said that the flood victims are the most deserving of the mercy and compassion of the Merciful, and the 1500th birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) should be combined with the relief of flood victims.
He has directed the officials and workers of Minhaj-ul-Quran’s organizations, forums and workers to actively participate in the flood relief activities of Minhaj Welfare Foundation, which have been in operation since day one. By providing maximum help, the flood victims should realize that they are not alone in this hour of difficulty.
Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri expressed his heartfelt sorrow over the deaths of citizens who lost their lives during the floods and prayed for their forgiveness and for the patience of the bereaved families. Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri has issued instructions to start arrangements at Aiwan-e-Iqbal, Lahore.
