Lahore: India released more water into the Sutlej River, wrongly informing Pakistan about high-level floods in the Sutlej instead of the Indus Water Commission, after which a high alert was issued in 9 districts of Punjab, while high-level floods have been forecast in Ravi, Sutlej and Chenab till September 5.
DG PDMA Punjab Irfan Ali Kathia said that the rivers of Punjab are still facing flood situation, in view of the flood situation in various places of the province, cracks can be made in the dam to save the urban population.
He said that 41 people have died in accidents due to the floods, 3243 villages have been severely affected, the number of victims in the province is 24 lakh 52 thousand 185 people have been affected, while 395 relief camps have been set up at different places across the province.
A large flood of 450,000 cusecs has entered the Chenab River at Head Muhammad Wala in Multan. Officers of the district administration and security agencies have decided to immediately breach the flood. Hundreds of villages from Jhuk Vance to Head Muhammad Wala have been submerged due to the flood and their residents have been shifted to safer places.

The flood situation in the Bosan dam near the Chenab River has become dangerously intense. The water level is continuously increasing, due to which water has started entering the low-lying areas.
According to sources, the flood has now started moving towards residential areas, while water has also entered the Jhuk Arabi school at some places, affecting educational activities.
There is high level of flood in the Sutlej River at Hari Ke and Ferozepur, Kasur, Okara, Bahawalnagar, Paktan, Vehari, Lodhran, Bahawalpur, Multan and Muzaffargarh are affected, there is extremely high level of flood at the head trims, thousands of settlements have been submerged by the flood rails, crops and communication roads are under water while millions of people have been affected.
After wreaking havoc in Tandlianwala, the Slab Rail has entered Kamalia, due to which dozens of villages, crops and communication roads are under water, the main GT Road Lahore-Faisalabad has broken, water has entered the settlements due to the road being washed away, traffic to Faisalabad, Lahore and Multan has been completely stopped.
141 villages and more than 200,000 people have been affected by the flood in Chiniot district, many settlements near the Chenab River in Multan are under water due to the flood, traffic to Faisalabad, Lahore and Multan has been completely stopped.
There is low-level flooding at Sukkur, Kotri and Guddu Barrages in Sindh, despite the announcement to shift people living in slums to safer places, people are not ready to leave their homes.

According to the National Polio Eradication Program, the risk of polio and other diseases spreading in flood-affected districts has increased.
The floodwaters of the Chenab River have entered Jhang passing through Sialkot, Wazirabad and Chiniot, where about 200 villages have been submerged and hundreds of houses have been submerged. More than 200,000 people have been displaced from the affected areas and standing crops have been destroyed.
A large flood of the Chenab River is likely to pass through Multan tonight. Dynamite has been installed on Head Muhammad Wala Road to save the city and preparations are being made to crack it if necessary.
High-level flooding in Ravi, Chenab and Sutlej
PDMA Punjab has expressed the risk of high-level flooding in Ravi, Chenab and Sutlej until September 5.
The flow at the head trims is 516,000 cusecs and is continuously increasing.
Meanwhile, the flow at Jasar in the Ravi River is 54,000 cusecs, while the flow at Shahdara is 60,000 cusecs and the flow at Baloki Headworks is 137,000 cusecs.
The flow at the head Sadhanai of the Ravi River is 177,000 cusecs, the flow at Ganda Singh Wala on the Sutlej River is 253,000 cusecs, while the flow at Sulemanki is 124,000 cusecs.
The flow at Marala in the Chenab River is 96,000, while the flow at Khanki Headworks is 120,000 and the flow at Qadirabad is 135,000 cusecs.
According to the Relief Commissioner, there is a risk of very high floods in Ravi, Sutlej and Chenab by September 5, and there is also a risk of an unusual increase in the flow of rivers due to rains in the upper areas.
The possibility of rains in the upper parts of the rivers has also been shown until September 3, due to which there is a risk of urban flooding in Lahore, Gujranwala and Gujarat.
On the other hand, the Flood Forecasting Division says that Tarbela Dam is 100 percent full and Mangla Dam is 83 percent full. The level of Tarbela Dam is 1549.78 feet while Mangla Dam is 1226.50 feet.
In addition, the spillways of the dam have been opened after the water level in Rawal Dam reached 1751.70 feet.
