The first round of talks on the hotline between Pakistan’s Director General Military Operations (DGMO) and his Indian counterpart has been completed, in which it was agreed to maintain the ceasefire.
According to an Indian media report, Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai and his Pakistani counterpart Major General Kashif Abdullah held contact on the hotline.
According to the report, during the contact, important issues related to the ceasefire announced between the two countries were considered. It was agreed to maintain the ceasefire between the two.
Indian media says that there will be no firing from either side and the civilian population will not be targeted.
This was the first contact between the DGMOs after the ceasefire between Pakistan and India two days ago.
Later, on the afternoon of May 10, US President Donald Trump said that Pakistan and India were ready for an immediate and complete ceasefire.
The US President had revealed this in a statement released on the social networking website X.
Meanwhile, Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri had said that Pakistan’s Director General Military Operations had contacted India’s Director General Military Operations at 3:35 pm, they had agreed that both sides would stop all firing and land, naval and air military operations.
He had said that this ceasefire would come into effect from 5 pm today, and instructions have been issued to both sides.
The Indian Foreign Secretary had further said that the Directors General Military Operations of both countries would talk again on May 12.
