Lahore Police have arrested well-known TikToker Kashif Zameer on charges of mocking the police uniform in a viral video circulated on social media. According to official sources, both Kashif Zameer and the police officer involved in the video have had FIRs registered against them under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) and other serious charges.
The FIR states that during a wedding ceremony, Kashif Zameer handed a tray filled with currency notes to a police officer in uniform and was seen showering the notes from it in a TikTok video. Authorities say the act was done deliberately to ridicule the police and degrade the department’s image.
The FIR further mentions that, in an attempt to avoid legal consequences, Kashif allegedly used artificial intelligence (AI) to create a second, altered video. In the manipulated clip, the color of the police uniform was digitally changed in an attempt to mislead viewers and downplay the original content.
Officials confirmed that the involved police officer, who reportedly allowed his uniform to be used for such content, has also been taken into custody. Meanwhile, TikToker Kashif Zameer has been transferred to Lahore for further investigation.
The incident has sparked renewed debate on social media ethics, the misuse of official uniforms in content creation, and the growing concern over the use of AI tools in digital manipulation to mislead law enforcement and the public.
